FenixCommerce Estimated Delivery Dates (EDD) allows retailers to provide a superior pre-purchase customer experience by displaying accurate and personalized estimated delivery dates on Product Detail, Cart, and Checkout pages.

Our platform provides an intelligent automated solution that optimizes delivery dates and shipping options based on real-time customer info, inventory levels, fulfillment locations, product parameters, and carrier contracts.

In this blog, we will elaborate on the popular FAQs on Estimated Delivery Dates (EDD).

What is an Estimated Delivery Date (EDD)?

The estimated delivery date is the day when an order will be delivered to the customer.

How long does it take FenixCommerce to implement the Estimated Delivery Dates (EDD) feature?

Fenix has out of the box integration with Shopify, Shopify Plus, BigCommerce, and WooCommerce. For merchants on these platforms, we can implement Fenix EDDs in 2 weeks.

For other platforms and custom eCommerce storefronts, it may take up to 4 weeks to go live with Fenix EDDs.

Does Fenix calculate EDDs for all shipping options?

Yes, FenixCommerce will show accurate EDDs for all your shipping options.

What input data is considered while calculating EDDs?

Below input data is considered while calculating EDDs for shoppers:

  • Customer zip code/geo-location
  • Product inventory level
  • Product dimensions and parameters
  • Fulfillment center location
  • Carrier Service and Rates
  • Any special rules

Does Fenix take into account non-working days and holidays while calculating EDDs?

Yes, you can add non-working days and a list of holidays from Fenix Business Console. Non-working days and list of holidays will be taken into account when calculating EDDs.

Does Fenix offer a cut-off time setting for same-day shipping?

Yes, you can specify what time (hours and minutes) of the day you stop shipping orders and delivery is counted from the following day.

How many types of delivery estimates can FenixCommerce provide?

FenixCommerce is very flexible in the types of delivery estimates that can be displayed to shoppers. You can choose from the following options available in the business console:

  • Show Fastest EDD
  • Show Longest EDD
  • Show EDD corresponding to Cheapest carrier service option
  • Show Date Range

How will the delivery estimates be calculated for multi-item orders?

In the case when the shopper has multiple items in the order, EDD can be calculated from the below available options:

  • Show Maximum Date
  • Show EDD corresponding to Cheapest carrier service option
  • Show Date Range

Is it possible to add buffer days to delivery estimates for specific regions?

Yes, you can add buffer days to delivery estimates. Additional delivery estimates can be configured for:

  • Specific Zip Code
  • Zip Code Range
  • Specific Region

Is it possible to block delivery estimates for some regions?

Yes, you can configure FenixCommerce to block delivery estimations for:

  • Specific Zip Code
  • Zip Code Range
  • Specific Region

Can I set a threshold time for the “Order By” message?

Yes, you can set threshold time in hours for the “Order By” message

Can I customize the “Order By’ message on the Product Detail and Cart pages?

Yes, you can customize the “Order By’ message on both the Product Detail and Cart pages. You can also have the same message for both pages.

In addition, you can also have different “Order By” messages displayed to shoppers below and above the cut-off times.

Can I add buffer days to carrier services while calculating EDDs?

Yes, you can add buffer days to specific carrier services from the business console. The buffer days will be taken into account when calculating delivery estimates.

Can I add lead time for order processing in fulfillment locations?

Yes, you can add lead time in hours for order processing in fulfillment locations. The lead time will be taken into account when estimating delivery dates.

Can I set different package pickup times for different carrier services?

Yes, you can set different pickup times for different carrier services through the business console.

Can I disable a specific carrier if I have stopped using them?

Yes, you can easily make the carrier not in use as Inactive from the business console.

Can I disable carrier service(s) if I have stopped using them?

Yes, you can easily make the carrier service(s) not in use as Inactive from the business console.

Can I disable a fulfillment location if it has been closed?

Yes, you can easily make a fulfillment location not in use as Inactive from the business console.

My fulfillment locations are in different time zones. Can FenixCommerce handle the difference in time zones while calculating the delivery estimates?

Yes, you can configure the time zone for every fulfillment location. FenixCommerce will calculate the delivery estimates accordingly.

Can I choose the date format of delivery estimates displayed to the shoppers?

Yes, you can select the delivery date format from the business console.

I have a few products that take additional time to assemble before they can be shipped. Can FenixCommerce handle additional processing time for specific products?

Yes, you can set lead time in days for specific products on the Products screen in the business console. FenixCommerce will accommodate this lead time while calculating the delivery estimates for the product.

Does FenixCommerce show delivery estimates for out of stock SKUs?

Yes, delivery estimates can also be displayed for out of stock products. You will have to configure the “Future Available Date” for the SKUs from the Inventory screen in the business console. 

Fenix will calculate the estimated delivery date by taking into account the future availability date of the SKU.
