Incrementality Engine

🚀 Announcing the Fenix Incrementality Engine: Unlock the Real Causal Lift of Promised Delivery Dates, and maximize incrementality.

At Fenix, we’re excited to introduce the Fenix Incrementality Engine — a first-of-its-kind measurement technology that blends cost-efficient, intermittent experimentation with cutting-edge machine learning. The result? A fully automated way to measure the exact, causal impact of our promised delivery date system on conversion rate (CVR), revenue per visitor (RPV), and incremental revenues.

How It Works

Traditionally, always-on experimentation is costly and complex. With the Fenix Incrementality Engine, we’ve solved that. Here’s how:

  • Session-level traffic splitting via a new API enhancement
  • ML modeling to estimate counterfactual (what would have happened otherwise) CVRs when the experiment us turned off
  • Correction modeling to adjust for any drift or bias
  • Automated re-triggering of tests if drift exceeds thresholds

Fenix uses order data, real-time events, inventory, and customer location to provide accurate delivery timelines.

What Our Partners Are Saying

"Fenix’s new incrementality engine gives us a clear understanding of how their machine learning-powered promised date system increases revenue per visitor and drives overall growth. It also offers deep insights into where and when promised dates have the greatest impact, helping us continuously improve performance. In addition, Fenix has made significant advances in A/B testing and causal analysis, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in this field."

Regional Insights from Our Retail Network

The image below shows how conversion performance varies by region and delivery promise date for one large retailer we are working with, thanks to the Fenix Incrementality Engine:

What can we learn?

  • In the Bay Area, promise days of 2 days or above can hurt incrementality, but offering a 1-day SLA on the PDP unlocks significant CVR gains
  • For Alaska and Vermont, incrementality across SLAs is fairly consistent across 3-7 days and 2-7 days respectively
  • For Texas, we see a gradually increase in incrementality, with a big lift from 3-2 days, but no lift from 2-1 days
This granular insight helps brands tailor shipping strategies by market & maximize incrementality, rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.
